About Mrs. Fenlon

Welcome to Room 25!

My name is Kathy Fenlon. I am the proud mother and wife of two wonderful children and a loving husband. I have lived
here in Haverhill for the past 20 years and have had the good fortune of meeting some terrific people and look forward
to meeting many more as a teacher.

Teaching is a career change for me. A change that I am VERY excited about and bring that excitment and enthusiasm into my classroom. Before making this career change, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and worked in the IT field
until the birth of my first child. At that time I became an at-home mom and worked occassionally on a contract basis
in the computer field. I even dabbled in some direct sales.

I have been involved in the Haverhill Public School System for eight years as a parent volunteer and have worked for the System since 2003. I made the decision to become a teacher after substitute teaching at the middle school level. I realized how much I enjoyed being with children of middle school age and felt most comfortable with the curriculum. I began my pursuit towards becoming a Math teacher by preparing for, taking and passing the appropriate Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTELs). Although I now hold a teaching license from the State of Massachusetts, I will be returning to school to ensure my students receive the best education possible.
